funnyordie:

Republicans, Get in My Vagina!

Kate Beckinsale, Judy Greer and Andrea Savage “spread” the message that the one thing women really want in their vagina is the government.

Judy Greer is so fantastic

Here we have Gingrich CLEARLY violating a federal law -

TITLE 18 > PART I > CHAPTER 29 > § 599

§ 599. Promise of appointment by candidate

Whoever, being a candidate, directly or indirectly promises or pledges the appointment, or the use of his influence or support for the appointment of any person to any public or private position or employment, for the purpose of procuring support in his candidacy shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both; and if the violation was willful, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.

And how much you want to fucking bet that nothing happens to him?

EDIT: “for the purpose of procuring support in his candidacy”

I suppose that since she ALREADY stated her support for him, it’s not a direct violation. I rescind my rant.

Do your civic duty

I just called my US Representative and both of my US Senators to voice my opposition against SOPA and PIPA. You should do the same.

Michiganders: Your senators are Carl Levin (D) (202-224-6221) and Debbie Stabenow (D) (202-224-4822). If you’re in Ann Arbor, you share my Representative, John Dingell (D, MI-15) (202-225-4071).

Call them. For Levin and Stabenow, you get an option to leave a message by pressing 1 or to speak to a member of the staff (by pressing 2 for Levin’s system, 3 for Stabenow’s). SPEAK TO A MEMBER OF THE STAFF. If you’re nervous or don’t know what to say, here’s something like what I said:

“I’m calling to voice my strong opposition to the Stop Online Privacy / Protect IP Act, because I believe that it is legislation that would be very damaging to the Internet and the basic civil liberty of freedom of speech. I want (insert name here) to know that if (s)he supports this piece of legislation, they are doing a disservice to their constituents and that they will effectively lose my vote”

For Levin and Stabenow, I added something similar to: “I’d also like to add my strong disgust for the Senator’s support of the National Defense Authorization Act, which I believe threatens to undermine our freedom in this country. Honestly, (s)he’s already lost my vote because of his/her position on NDAA, but if (s)he’d like to redeem him/herself as a human being and as a representative of American liberties, (s)he will vote against PIPA.”

The US is great because we have a representative democracy that (in theory, at least) gives a voice to the people. Use your voice. Stand up for your rights.

So, after a conversation that began about unemployment and ended up getting completely de-railed, my friends and I have created a new political party, the Fancy Stags. Our representative animal, far superior than your common donkey or elephant, is a beautiful stag, in a suit, with wings.
Right now our only platform is anti-deer ticks and anti-mosquito. Come and like us on Facebook, unless you want your children to fall victim to lyme disease and malaria.
